After reading a few rules to live by online, I decided to compile a list of my favorites. Some are very serious and true, some funny, others crude. But these are the ones I like best.
Rules to live by
Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it.
Rule 2: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 3: Always find something to be grateful for!
Rule 4: You need only two tools. WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
Rule 5: If he/she says that you are too good for him/her...BELIEVE them!
Rule 6: Learn to pick your battles; ask yourself, 'Will this matter one year from now? How about one month? One week? One day?'
Rule 7: Always find your passions. You can't bring value if you are not passionate about what you do.
Rule 8: Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
Rule 9: You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.
Rule 10: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 11: A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person.
Rule12: Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car.
Rule 13: If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip.
Rule 14: Tell me what you need, and I'll tell you how to get along without it.
Rule 15: Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.
Rule 16: NEVER trust a fart!!
Rule 17: Don't resist things you don't like in your life. What you resist persists. Instead of focusing on what you don't want, focus on what you do want.
Rule 18: Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
Rule 19: When everything is coming your way ...... you're in the wrong lane.
Rule 20: When something good is over, don't cry; smile and be glad it was.
Rule 21: Forgive quickly.
Rule 22: You must not dilly-dally (unless of course, you are reading this blog, then by all means, please do!)
I love your rules! Especially rule #16! It made me laugh.
ReplyDelete#12 is my fave, I've said that many, many times. Our preacher said it in church one a couple years ago and it stuck with me. Makes sense.
ReplyDeleteThe last one fits your blog perfectly, how cute. :)
